Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2018.009.20044 Acrobat DC (former Adobe Acrobat XI Pro) is the completely reimagined desktop version of the world’s best PDF solution. It includes a mobile app so you can fill, sign and share PDFs on any device. And with Document Cloud services, you can create, export, edit and track PDFs from anywhere — and stay connected to recent files across all your devices.
I see developers of adobe has confirmed that the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is compatible with Windows 10. Suggest you try uninstalling the existing one and reinstall the latest fresh copy from the Adobe site and see if it works fine. Adobe Acrobat 5.0 is crashing immediately on opening, and I don't have any idea why. I'm running OS X 10.2.6; I recently installed Reader 6.0 along with a couple updates, one a Chinese font set, but I don't remember if Acrobat 5.0 failed immediately after this or later. I've removed files including invisibles with 'acrobat' in them and reinstalled Acrobat from the CD. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The first one here says 5.0 is not supported natively on OS X (and thus would run in Classic), but 5.05 is supported. Double check your version number and download an update if need be.

Since you mention adding a font, that's where I would start. Sally - Sally Shears (a.k.a.
